More than books – and even more than information technology/computers – librarianship today is about connection. As librarians, we know we have the resources to help others in our school communities – but how can we collaborate with others to best connect them to our resources? How can we ensure that the community’s needs are met?

In May, I was lucky to be able to present at the 2011 ECIS Librarians Conference in Istanbul, and I shared my own collaboration tactics with a group of librarians. The resulting discussion raised even more useful ideas. Collaboration is a vital part of my library program and I enjoyed sharing what has worked in my program.
